VOX Pop-Up Choir - Fall Program

Introducing VOX Pop-Up Choir! This two-month session welcomes children 8y/o and above of all levels to participate in a unique pop choral experience! This exciting program provides singers with the opportunity to learn outstanding arrangements over a six week rehearsal process, participate in a professional recording project and perform with incredible musicians in concerts throughout the holiday season. Meeting at the lovely St. James Episcopal Church in Newport Beach on Sunday afternoons, singers will develop and strengthen their musical artistry in a supportive environment. Co-directed by Sarah Grandpré and Stefanie Deming.

The fall session includes the following: 

• Scheduled rehearsals focusing on:

• Sight singing training 

• Intermediate-advanced harmonic and rhythmic training 

• Musical artistry and expression 

• Learning and mastering ensemble arrangements 

• Recording project in Orange County

• Live concert performances at the end of the session

Rehearsals:

Sundays from 1PM - 3PM beginning October 13th, culminating in holiday performances in December.

Sarah Grandpré Studio Singers

This small ensemble program welcomes young artists who have a strong interest in recording and performing commercial music in an industry environment, providing each singer with useful training and special opportunities to record and perform music in an ensemble and individual context.

Each 4-month session includes:

• Weekly rehearsals

• Workshop with an industry professional 

• Commissioned arrangements 

• Recording session at a local recording studio 

• Music video production   

• Spotify/Apple Music/YouTube release of material

• Musical gigs contracted throughout the session

• Live concert performance at the end of the session

ONE-DAY Choir and Recording Session 8/17

Short on time? We’ve got you covered! Join us this summer for our all inclusive ONE-DAY Choir, brought to you by Sarah Grandpre Studio Singers. This August we will be offering an opportunity for singers of all ages to come together in a single rehearsal musical intensive, including: a unique arrangement of a choral/gospel song, a recording and filming session of the arrangement in the rehearsal space with a performance for friends and family at the end of the day.

Open to singers ages 10 and older. Young adults welcome. Younger singers may be considered on a case to case basis.

Application requirements for new singers:

• Submit a video including:

  • One verse and chorus song that best represents you. Please sing a capella, no track.

  • Please upload to an unlisted youtube link.

Dates: August 17th, 10AM - 4PM (likely will wrap closer to 3PM)

Location: Costa Mesa, CA

Cost:

• $25 non refundable application fee. If accepted, the application fee will be applied as a credit toward tuition.

• $50 per singer. This fee includes a full day of rehearsal, recording and behind the scenes footage.

Pop Music Video Production! 8/5 - 8/9

Introducing first of a series of Pop Up! Choral productions, brought to you by Sarah Grandpre Studio Singers. This August we will be offering an opportunity for your aspiring young performers to live out their pop-star dreams through a one-week musical intensive, including: a commissioned arrangement of a medley of current chart toppers and an in person workshop with the arranger, choreography with an industry pro, recording the arrangement in the studio, and finally wrapping up the week with a music video shoot.

Open to singers ages 8 - 18.

Application requirements:

• Submit a video including:

  • One pop song that best represents you. Please use a backing track.

Dates: August 5th - August 9th, 10AM - 1PM

Advanced Vocal Production / July 2024

Master Class with Miss Sarah

This summer I’m offering two consecutive one-week intensives for advanced young singers who would like the opportunity to hone their skills as recording artists in a hands on environment. Each singer will have the opportunity to record a solo of their choosing with a master technician and real time vocal coaching. Unique covers, original songs and self accompaniment are encouraged. Singers will be introduced to the technical side of song production and will participate in mixing and mastering their own material. This will be followed by filming an individual music video demo to highlight each singer’s personality and a live showcase performance at a local venue. Open to advanced singers ages 12 - 18.

Audition requirements:

• Submit a video including:

  • Two songs you would like to have considered for the class, any style.

  • Videos should be recorded with a backing track. Self accompaniment is also great!

  • Please upload to an unlisted youtube link.

Dates:

• Week 1: July 22nd - July 26th

• Week 2: July 29th - August 2nd

Individual Coaching: by appointment Monday/Tuesday, with a preliminary coaching taking place on zoom in the weeks leading up to the class

Voices of Hope 2022-2023 Season

Voices of Hope Children’s Choir is currently auditioning new members for the 2023 spring season! We offer a tuition free choral program and rehearse weekly in Irvine, California.

Our fall season includes internationally broadcast performances on the Hour of Power television program, a fully produced Christmas single and music video and spectacular holiday performances in collaboration with professional music ensembles.

Voices of Hope Children’s Choir won over the hearts of viewers across America and the world as Semi-Finalists on America’s Got Talent Season 13. We are currently featured on this season of America’s Got Talent: All Stars. Founded in 2015, Voices of Hope is a non-profit program made up of talented children, ages 6-18, of all backgrounds and levels of experience. Singing inspirational music, the goal of the choir is to uplift the spirits of all who listen, to share a message of hope and peace and to learn positive self esteem and teamwork along the way. We hope to change the world one song at a time.

Summer Camp with Voices of Hope

Every summer, Voices of Hope Children’s Choir offers a tuition free music camp in Irvine, California. This summer our camp will take place from July 11th - July 15th at Shepherd’s Grove Presbyterian Church. Campers are invited to attend Monday - Friday from 9am to 3pm with a performance for family and friends at 6pm on Friday, July 15th.

The purpose of this music camp is to get a jump start on our music for the fall and for the holiday season while showcasing the individual singers in the choir. We have a LOT of fun music and events planned, including theme days, a studio recording day and a showcase performance.

The summer program is usually limited to choir members only, but this year we are opening it up to a limited number of singers who may be interested in joining us full-time. If you are interested in joining us, please click here to request more information:

Master Class with Miss Sarah

This summer, I am offering a special, one week intensive for intermediate and advanced young singers to gain strength in sight reading and music theory, expression and musicality, vocal technique and studio recording experience. Open to children ages 10 - 18.

Audition requirements:

• Submit a video including:

  • Two contrasting pop or musical theatre songs, around one minute each song

  • An ascending major scale, minor scale, major triad, minor triad and diminished triad using solfege. For example: SCALES AND TRIADS

  • Videos must be recorded a cappella.

  • Please upload to an unlisted youtube link.

Dates: July 25th - 29th

Time: Monday - Friday 9am - 1pm

Location: Newport Beach, California

Cost:

• $25 non refundable application fee. If accepted into the camp, the application fee will be applied as a credit towards the camp.

• $275 per singer. This includes a complex group medley arranged and directed by Miss Sarah, a studio recording, a fully produced music video and a live performance at the end of the week.

• If you would like to apply for a solo the fee is an additional $175. This includes song selection and individual coaching with Miss Sarah, a studio recording of the song, a standard music video for your vocal reel, and an opportunity to perform it live at the end of the week. Solo coachings and recordings will be scheduled by appointment between 1pm - 3pm Monday - Thursday.
